If f***ing Bitwig Studio supported AU, none of this would be an issue for me. However, many are way beyond my budget including Sound Radix Pi at $250. I'll check out many of the other ones you mentioned. However, my original post specifically mentions Airwindows Desk as my favorite and basically trying to find a close alternative that supports VST format.

You put it at the end of every plugin chain and it aligns the phase of all of your tracks. SoundRadix Pi is also a different take on summing, and worth checking out (if I'm not mistaken, its almost the opposite of NLS. If you want the most transparent option, than Wave NLS is the way to go. I don't think there are any options as flexible as VCC out there either. To narrow it down, if you find VCC too coloured, I would recommend Waves NLS, Airwindows Console, and SKnote Strip as viable 'transparent' options. Rather, it imprints small amounts of EQ that differ on the right and left channel to get a wider sound. Like some of the Airwindows plugins, it does not model a specific console.

As long as you have things gain staged correctly it can be pretty subtle.I find this to be the case as well. VCC is very transparent unless you are slamming it.
